2024 National Volleyball League: Playoff Race Heats Up in Final Stretch

As the National Volleyball League’s 2024 regular season draws to a close, the race for playoff spots has reached the boiling point, with teams jostling for positions in both the men’s and women’s divisions. Now at the tail end of the season, every point counts in determining who will advance to the playoffs.

In the men’s division, Saturday’s fixtures promise intense battles as 8th placed Sky brace themselves to take on 3rd placed UCU at Sports S Grounds in Nsambya at 1 PM. Meanwhile, 5th placed Ndejje will clash with 6th placed KCCA at the same venue later in the day at 5 PM.

Sunday’s schedule is equally compelling, featuring a showdown between 7th placed Elyon and 2nd placed Sports S at 9 AM, followed by a highly anticipated face-off between table-toppers Nemostars and 4th placed KAVC-A at 4 PM.

In the women’s division, Saturday’s action kicks off with 5th placed UCU facing relegation-threatened Kampala University at 9 AM, followed by a clash between 7th placed UPDF and 6th placed VVC at 11 AM. However, the highlight of the day lies in the match between 2nd placed KCCA and league leaders Ndejje at 3 PM.

Sunday sees Kampala University, fighting to avoid relegation, locking horns with table-toppers Ndejje at 11 AM, while Espoir, languishing at the bottom of the table, face a daunting challenge against 4th placed Sports-S at 2 PM.

With only the top four teams from each division securing a berth in the playoffs, every match in the remaining fixtures carries immense significance.
