National Hockey League Returns: Weatherhead and Swans Lead Charge

After a brief hiatus for the Easter Cup, the 2024 National Hockey League is back in action for Matchday 3. Weatherhead and Swans, the reigning champions of the Easter Cup for the men’s and women’s divisions respectively, are gearing up to maintain their lead as the league resumes.

In the men’s division, the fixtures feature exciting matches scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, Wananchi, currently in 4th place, will clash with struggling Titans, who are anchored at the bottom of the table without a single win. Makerere, also without a win so far, will face a tough challenge against the 2nd-placed Badgers.

Sunday’s matches are equally enticing, with 3rd placed Stallions set to lock horns with table-toppers Weatherhead, while Rockets take on Originals, and Thunders battle City Lions.

Meanwhile, in the women’s division, Saturday’s fixtures include Thunders, languishing at the bottom of the table, facing a formidable opponent in HDF. Wananchi will take on Historicals in what promises to be an evenly contested matchup.

Sunday’s highlight in the women’s division is undoubtedly the clash between 1st-placed Swans and 2nd-placed Weatherhead. With Sandra Namusoke leading the scoring charts for the Swans with an impressive tally of 5 goals, fans can expect a display of top-notch hockey skills.

The games will take place at the National Hockey Stadium in Lugogo.
