An own goal from Okello Donato inside the opening 20 minutes and another from Abubaker Lawal five minutes to time sealed an important Vipers sports club 2-0 away win over title challengers Kitara FC in Masindi on Friday in the only premier league game played.
The win masterminded by playmaker Allan Okello was not only revenge against a side that ejected them out of this season’s Stanbic Uganda Cup at the quarter finals, but also moved the Venoms to the top of the league standings –dislodging the Royals.
The defending champions now lead with 45 points in 23 games, one point ahead of second placed Kitara with a game in hand.
