BUL FC moved top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League after a 2-0 home victory over Express FC on Saturday at the Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru.
Ibrahim scored in both stanzas to cap his man-of-the-match performance.
The forward netted the opener in the 18th minute and added another in the 75th minute, handing Baker Mbowa’s side their fourth defeat since taking charge at Express FC.
With 46 points from 24 games, the Eastern side dislodged holders Vipers SC who are now in the second spot with 45 points and a game in hand.
The victory adds excitement to the league title race, with five teams in contention for the trophy: BUL FC — 46 Points, Vipers SC — 45 Points, Kitara FC — 44 Points, SC Villa — 41 Points, and NEC — 40 Points.
The eastern side came into the match following a 2-1 win over KCCA FC in the Stanbic Uganda Cup in the quarterfinals.
The league action resumes this Sunday with SC Villa hosting Soltilo Bright Stars at Wankulukuku.
