NEC Gear Up for Back-to-Back Matches Against BUL

NEC Football Club are gearing up to face BUL FC in both the Startimes Uganda Premier League and the Stanbic Uganda Cup. Hussein Mbalangu, the head coach of NEC is confident in his team’s chances of picking up points from the encounters.

Regarding the Uganda Cup Draw with BUL, Coach Mbalangu stated, “This is an opponent we know very well. We play in the same league and have faced them already.”

With back-to-back matches against BUL Mbalangu maintained that his team was taking it on a game-by-game basis.

“We are preparing for the Uganda Premier League first and then focus on the Uganda Cup. We must make sure we don’t repeat the mistakes we made against URA in the previous game week,” he said.

On facing the current league leaders, Mbalangu expressed confidence in his team’s abilities.

“We are at a point when we need as many points as possible. We previously faced Kitara, who were table leaders then but still beat them. I’m confident we can win this game,” he said.

NEC are currently fifth on the table standings with 40 points after 24 games, trailing league leaders BUL by six points. BUL have won two of their last five matches, drawing one, and losing two, while NEC have secured three victories in their last five games, with two losses.
