Uganda’s Ladies’ Table Tennis Team Wins Gold at East Africa Regional Championships

Uganda’s ladies’ table tennis team clinched the gold medal at the ITTF East Africa Regional Championships, held at the MTN Arena in Lugogo. The team’s remarkable journey to the top culminated in a stunning performance that solidified their dominance in the region.

Uganda faces Madagascar in the semifinals, defeating them with a convincing 3-0 victory. In the final, Uganda’s ladies’ team overcame long-time rivals Kenya with a stellar 3-0 win, securing the gold medal in commanding fashion.

Simultaneously, the Uganda Men’s won silver at the tournament losing to Madagascar 3-0 in the final.

With their outstanding performances, both the Ugandan Ladies’ and Men’s teams have earned their spots at the upcoming ITTF Africa Senior Championships, scheduled to take place in Ethiopia in October 2024.

The singles games continue at the MTN Arena in Lugogo and are set to climax on Thursday, April 25th.
