Coach Micho, the former Uganda Cranes manager last evening celebrated the reopening of Namboole Stadium with a heartfelt tweet. He expressed his deep respect, recognition, and appreciation for Uganda, its people, and the country’s vibrant football culture. Micho fondly referred to Namboole Stadium as his “African football birthplace,” where he shared countless memories and moments of triumph.
Attending the the event which had test matches of UPL giants KCCA, Villa , Vipers and new entrants Bul, Micho witnessed the rich history and promise of a new era for Ugandan football. He embraced the spirit of unity, passion, and pride that defines the beautiful game in Uganda, recognizing its profound impact on shaping lives and fostering community.
Micho’s tweet read: “With wholehearted respect, recognition, and appreciation to Uganda, Ugandans, and Ugandan football, I attended the reopening of my African football birthplace, Nelson Mandela Namboole National Stadium, witnessing the history behind and ready for new pages ahead as the home of Uganda Cranes.”
The day was made even more special with two exciting matches: BUL defeated Vipers SC, while KCCA FC secured a 2-0 victory against SC Villa in the double-header games, adding to the celebratory atmosphere of the stadium’s reopening.
