Dr. Desiree Ellis, the reigning CAF Women’s Coach of the Year, has been conferred with an Honorary Doctorate by the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in recognition of her exceptional contributions to women’s football. Ellis, revered for guiding South Africa’s senior women’s national team to their historic triumph at the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, now proudly bears the title of Dr. Desiree Ellis following the official conferment ceremony held on Thursday, April 25th.

In April of the previous year, Dr. Ellis received further accolades when she was bestowed with the prestigious Order of Ikhamanga in Gold by South Africa’s Head of State, President Cyril Ramaphosa.
