The 2024 Bika Byabaganda Football tournament has reached its round of 32 stage, with seven clans progressing after the round of 64. Mmamba Namakaka, Ndiga, Kasimba, Mmamba Kakoboza, Nvubu, Njaza, and Ngabi Nnyunga have secured their spots, joining the top 25 teams from last year’s seeding.
Mmamba Namakaka, despite a 1-0 defeat to Nkerebwe in the second leg, advanced on a 5-2 aggregate. Ayub Ssekazza scored the lone goal for Nkerebwe. Ngabi Nnyunga edged out Mpeewo on penalties, 5-3, after two barren draws. Ndiga continued their impressive run, defeating Nkusu 2-0, with goals from Dan Mzee Sserunkuma and Kenneth Musumba (own goal). Ndiga progressed on a 3-0 aggregate.
Njaza exacted revenge on Kibe with a 2-0 win, courtesy of Baker Lukooya and Ivan Kalyowa’s goals. Kibe had won the first leg 2-0, but Njaza triumphed in the penalty shootout, 5-3. Mmamba Kakoboza advanced despite a 1-0 loss to Ngaali, thanks to a 2-1 aggregate lead. Kasimba also progressed, despite a 1-0 defeat to Kayozi, having won the first leg 3-0. Jude Wanyaga scored for Kayozi.
Nvubu secured their spot with a 1-0 win over Nsuma, courtesy of Peter Kasakya’s goal, and a 2-1 aggregate lead. The first leg of the round of 32 is scheduled for Friday, 10th, and the second leg for Sunday, 12th.
