Ugandan sensation Joshua Cheptegei, holder of the world record, aims to recapture the magic that saw him shatter records and claim Olympic gold. Alongside him, compatriot Jacob Kiplimo, a Commonwealth champion and Olympic bronze medalist, seeks to add another Diamond League triumph to his repertoire.

However, standing in their path are formidable Ethiopian challengers led by Yomif Kejelcha, a seasoned Diamond League veteran and former champion. Kejelcha, renowned for his tenacity on the track, narrowly missed out on last year’s title in a gripping finale.

Joining Kejelcha is Berihu Aregawi, the reigning Diamond League champion, along with Hagos Gebrhiwet and Telahun Haile Bekele, adding layers of intensity to the competition.

Telahun Haile Bekele, ranked fourth globally, aims to replicate his past success in Oslo, where he previously clinched victory in the 5000m event.

The international field also includes athletes like Luis Grijalva from Guatemala, Dominic Lokinyomo Lobalu from Switzerland, and local hero Henrik Ingebrigtsen, ensuring a diverse and competitive lineup.

As part of the prestigious Wanda Diamond League series, this event showcases the pinnacle of global track and field, with athletes vying for points to secure a spot in the highly anticipated finals in Brussels.

With an electrifying atmosphere and top-tier competition, the Wanda Diamond League in Oslo promises to deliver an unforgettable spectacle, as athletes push the boundaries of human achievement on the track.
