SC Villa Hero Reacts to First Goal for Club

Following SC Villa’s remarkable comeback victory against Wakiso Giants FC in matchday 27 of the Startimes Uganda Premier League, forward Reagan Mpande shared his thoughts on the team’s performance and his memorable moment of scoring his first top-flight goal for the club.

Mpande, who played a pivotal role in securing the win with his decisive goal, expressed his gratitude for the team’s collective effort in turning the tide of the match. Despite facing a two-goal deficit, SC Villa showcased resilience and determination, ultimately clinching a thrilling victory.

“The boys kept pressing ahead in search for a winner,” Mpande remarked. “We were down in the first half, and it was up to us to step up and win it. I am happy for the team effort and the three points collected.”

Reflecting on his personal achievement, Mpande expressed his joy at scoring the winning goal and achieving a significant milestone in his career with SC Villa. “I am also happy that I scored the winner and my first top-flight goal as a Jogoo,” he said.

Acknowledging the support of the fans, Mpande thanked them for their unwavering encouragement throughout the match. Their presence and fervent support served as a source of inspiration for the team as they fought their way back into the game.

“I thank them for the support,” Mpande said gratefully.

With the victory secured, Mpande and his teammates now turn their focus to their upcoming challenge as they prepare to face UPDF FC in Bombo on Saturday, May 11th, 2024.
