A1 Challenge Beat Nabisunsa in Intense Match

A1 Challenge Basketball Club emerged victorious in a thrilling showdown against Nabisunsa Girls Basketball Club, securing a narrow win with a final score of 50-48. The win marks A1 Challenge’s return to winning ways having lost the previous two games against JT Lady Jaguars and Miracle Ravens.

Stella Kiberenge led the charge for A1 Challenge, delivering an outstanding performance with 21 points and 12 rebounds, earning her an impressive index score of 22.

On the opposing side, Nabisunsa Girls Basketball Club put up a formidable fight, led by Sarah Namale who contributed significantly with 19 points and an astonishing 22 rebounds, resulting in a remarkable index score of 31.

The match remained closely contested throughout, with both teams showcasing their defensive prowess and offensive strategies. However, it was A1 Challenge Basketball Club’s composure in the crucial moments that ultimately secured their victory.

Key players from A1 Challenge, including Kekimuli Cathy with 11 points and 13 rebounds, and Faith Apio with 6 points and 3 assists, played pivotal roles in steering their team to success.

Despite the narrow defeat, Nabisunsa Girls Basketball Club displayed commendable teamwork and determination, with notable contributions from Mpoza Abigail, who tallied 10 points and 6 rebounds, and Mich Nyadoi, who added 5 points to the scoreboard.

With this victory, A1 Challenge Basketball Club are ninth with 18 points from 14 games while Nabisunsa Girls are eleventh with 13 points from 12 games.

The NBL Women 2024 league continues with Nabisunsa facing KCCA Leopards on Sunday 12th May at midday.
