The Uganda Rugby Cranes 7’s have arrived in Munich for the final leg of the 2024 HSBC Challenger Series, with their training sessions already underway in preparation for the tournament, which kicks off on Saturday, May 18th.
Currently ranked 8th in the standings, the Rugby Cranes 7’s face an uphill battle with a slim chance of advancing further in the series.
Head coach Tolbert Onyango opted for a youthful squad, emphasizing the importance of gaining valuable experience from this competition.
Meanwhile, the Lady Cranes 7’s also safely arrived in Krakow, Poland, where they will compete in the Krakow leg of the HSBC Challenger Series.
The team landed on Tuesday and is set to commence their campaign with the goal of reaching the semifinals, a necessary feat to progress to the next round.
The HSBC Challenger Series serves as a critical pathway to the HSBC SVNS series, providing teams with the opportunity to qualify for the prestigious global circuit.
Both the Rugby Cranes 7’s and Lady Cranes 7’s will have their Day One matches at the same time despite the competitions happening in different locations.
