Title Race Goes Down to the Wire: Permutations for the Top Four

As the final whistle approaches on Saturday, May 18th, the Startimes Uganda Premier League will crown its champion. Four teams – SC Villa, Vipers SC, BUL, and Kitara FC – are in the hunt, and their fate lies in their own hands. Let’s delve into the permutations for each team to claim the coveted title.

SC Villa, sitting atop the table with 54 points, is in the driver’s seat. To secure the championship, they simply need to defeat NEC in their final match. However, if they draw, they can still win the title if Vipers SC fail to beat Mbarara or if BUL lose to Busoga. Even if Villa loses, they can still claim the title if Vipers SC fail to win, BUL lose, and Kitara FC fail to beat Gadaffi.

Vipers SC, with 53 points, need a win against Mbarara City to keep their hopes alive. If they win and Villa fail to beat NEC, the title is theirs. Additionally, if BUL fail to beat Busoga, Vipers SC will be crowned champions.

BUL, also with 53 points, require a win against Busoga to stay in contention. If they win and SC Villa fail to beat NEC, they will claim the title. Alternatively, if they draw and SC Villa lose to NEC, while Vipers SC fail to beat Mbarara City, BUL will be crowned champions.

Kitara FC, with 51 points, face an uphill battle but still have a chance. To win the title, they must beat Gadaffi and hope that SC Villa lose to NEC, Vipers SC lose to Mbarara City, and BUL lose to Busoga.

The permutations are complex, but one thing is certain – only one team will be crowned champions on May 18th.
