Internationally recognized Ugandan safety and security expert Dixon Okello has been appointed to handle the return leg of the 2024 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League Final.
The match, set to take place on May 25, 2024, will see Al Ahly of Egypt face off against Esperance ST of Tunisia at Cairo International Stadium.
Bond Okello, as he is commonly called in reference to fictional character James Bond is a CAF and FIFA-trained security expert. His appointment comes after the first leg of the final, held at Stade Olympique Hammadi Agrebi in Tunisia, ended in a 0-0 draw.
His role will be crucial in ensuring the safety and security of the event, which is expected to draw a large and passionate crowd.
He will be supported by a team of 15 other match officials, each responsible for different aspects of the final’s management. This collective effort aims to maintain order and ensure the smooth running of the highly anticipated match.
