Key figures in African football administration have gathered in Zanzibar to strategize for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) under the Pamoja Bid.
The meeting, organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), includes high-ranking officials from Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania—the three nations that will co-host the tournament.
Leading the Ugandan delegation is Hon. Magogo Moses Hassim, the President of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), who is accompanied by Ronnie Kalema, the Football Development Executive Secretary, and Kiiza Decolas, the Deputy CEO-Football.
They join representatives from the Member Associations of Kenya, and Tanzania to coordinate efforts and finalize preparations for the historic tournament.
The agenda for the Zanzibar meeting includes an in-depth review of the progress made in infrastructure, logistics, and event planning. A key focus will be on ensuring that all preparatory measures meet CAF and FIFA standards to guarantee a successful tournament.
The Pamoja Bid marked a significant milestone for East Africa, securing the region’s first opportunity to host AFCON.
