Uganda Cricket Association Explains Design Change on Cricket Cranes Jersey

The Uganda Cricket Association has addressed the controversy regarding the Cricket Cranes’ jersey design change, which sparked an uproar on social media.

The jersey unveiled at the official flagging-off event differed notably from the one previously revealed, particularly in the design of the sleeves.

Musali Denis, the Public Relations Officer of Uganda Cricket Association, clarified that the modifications were due to a last-minute directive from the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Original Cricket Cranes Jersey Design

“We lost just about 20% of the original design (sleeves), but the rest of the design is the same,” Denis stated.

“The ICC asked for a change in the design (the sleeves), but we didn’t have enough time to make the required changes and had to compromise on the winning design,” he added.

The replica jersey for the Cricket Cranes is on sale a the Sports Shop at the National Council of Sports offices in Lugogo and will cost UGX 100,000.

The Cricket Cranes are set to begin their T20 World Cup campaign against Afghanistan on June 4 at the Providence Stadium.
