Uganda Cranes Announce Squad for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

Uganda Cranes Head Coach Paul Put has announced the squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. The Cranes are set to play two crucial home games next month against Botswana and Algeria.

The summoned squad comprises four goalkeepers, nine defenders, six midfielders, and nine forwards. Notably, the team sees the introduction of defender Elio Capradossi, who plays for Serie B side Calcio Lecco FC in Italy.

Uganda currently occupies the fourth position in Group G after playing two games, having secured a victory in one of those matches.

Algeria currently leads the group, having won all their games thus far. Botswana, like Uganda, also has three points.

Uganda will face Botswana on June 7th, followed by a match against Algeria on June 10th.
