Kitara Football Club emerged as the champions of the 50th Stanbic Uganda Cup, securing a 1-0 victory over NEC FC in a thrilling final held at the Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku. The match, attended by hundreds of passionate football fans, concluded the Uganda football season on a high note.
The decisive moment came in the 75th minute when Solomon Okwalinga scored the only goal of the match, putting Kitara FC ahead.
Despite numerous attempts, NEC FC was unable to equalize, as their efforts were thwarted by a resilient Kitara defense.
The atmosphere at the stadium was electric, with fans erupting in celebration as the final whistle confirmed Kitara FC’s triumph.
This victory not only marks a significant achievement for the team but also secures their place as Uganda’s representatives in the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup.
