Former Newcastle Defender Steven Taylor Visits Motherwell Sports Academy in Uganda

Steven Taylor, former Newcastle United defender, is currently at Motherwell Sports Academy in Mutungo, Uganda. His visit comes at the invitation of the academy’s director, Paul Mark Kayongo, a former long-serving FUFA delegate.

Taylor, who spent 13 years at Newcastle, is set to conduct a series of training sessions for the academy’s players throughout this weekend. His arrival, initially scheduled for Saturday, April 20th, was delayed due to flooding at Dubai airport, causing a postponement of his trip.

During his visit, Taylor is expected to formalize a partnership with the academy. This collaboration aims to enhance the multi-skilling of children, providing them with comprehensive football training and development opportunities.

The partnership is anticipated to bring significant benefits to the academy and its young players, fostering the growth of football talent in the region.
