Club Captain Kavuma Marvin expressed gratitude towards the management for their unwavering support throughout the season. The Head Coach thanked his technical team, players, media, and the board of directors, led by the Club Chairman. He voiced his disappointment at not securing a trophy this season but pledged to achieve this goal in the next season.

In his speech, Club Chairman Eng. Brian Buhanda reflected on the club’s journey since September 2023. He praised the club’s ability to challenge expectations, noting their 6th place finish in the Uganda Premier League (UPL) and their status as runners-up in the Stanbic Uganda Cup. He also extended thanks to the club’s sponsors and donors, including Oriental Ventures, Muhick, and Sodolin.

The Patron, Lt. Gen. Mugira, before delivering his speech, presented tokens of appreciation to all club members alongside the Chairman. In his address, Lt. Gen. Mugira praised the club’s remarkable performance, emphasizing their significant impact on the country’s football landscape. He lauded their achievements in the UPL and the Stanbic Uganda Cup, acknowledging their impressive rise from the Big League to the top flight.

“When you entered the UPL, many didn’t think you would last the season. However, we believed in you, and your performance was outstanding, surprising many teams that underestimated you. You proved you are a force to be reckoned with,” said Lt. Gen. Mugira.

He also announced the provision of a new bus for the team, aimed at easing their transportation needs. The bus was officially handed over to Head Coach Hussein Mbalangu and Team Captain Kavuma Marvin, symbolizing the club’s commitment to supporting its players.

Lt. Gen. Mugira concluded by promising continued support for the team and urging them to prepare for the upcoming season, which will commence in August. The event highlighted NEC FC’s successful season and set the stage for their future ambitions.
