Following an action packed start to Season 3 of the Uganda Boxing Champions League on May 25, 2024, at the NCS Arena in Lugogo, the league is set to resume on June 8, 2024, at Club Obligato.
The second week of competition promises excitement with over 18 bouts scheduled, headlined by a 60kg lightweight clash between Kemis Ibrahim of Mutajjazi and Sekyejwe Brian of Kololo.
In preparation for the anticipated bout, NBS Sports visited Sekyejwe Brian during his rigorous training session in Kalerwe. Confident and determined, Brian did not hold back his thoughts on the upcoming fight.
“I have learned from my mistakes. Kemis is just a young boy who came from the youth division. I don’t think he can take me down. As I told you, I’ve learned from my mistakes and received enough training. This time, it’s going to be different,” Brian declared.
Kemis Ibrahim, equally focused and determined, responded with his own assertion of readiness and confidence.
“I may have come from the youth division, but I have fought and won most of my fights against good boxers. I am going to teach Brian a lesson in boxing because I have beaten boxers who used to drink, and they stopped drinking. So, who is he?” Ibrahim retorted.
The league’s return is eagerly awaited by boxing fans, who can look forward to a thrilling week of bouts broadcast live on NBS Sport.
The competition promises to showcase the intensity and skill of Uganda’s boxing talent, culminating in the highly anticipated showdown between Ibrahim and Brian.
