The 2024 Fresh Dairy Girls’ Football tournament witnessed a pair of surprising results in the semifinals, with Rines SS and Kawempe Muslim SS emerging victorious.
Rines SS upset defending champions Amus College 2-0 in a tightly contested match. Rinah Ayerango and Halima Mupyanga scored the goals for Rines SS, both coming from well-placed headers. Amus College had their opportunities, with their best chance in the first half denied by a stellar save from Rines’ goalkeeper.
In the other semifinal, Kawempe Muslim SS edged out St. Noa Girls’ School 1-0. The game’s lone goal came courtesy of Hadijah Babirye in the first half.
Kawempe Muslim will now face Rines SS in the finals, while St. Noa will battle Amus College for third place.
