The 9th edition of the USF National Swimming Championships is set to commence from June 27 to June 30, 2024, at Kampala Parents School. This highly anticipated event will feature over 600 swimmers representing 20 teams from across the country.
The championship, which spans four days, will see swimmers compete in various categories, including Under 10, 11-12, 15-16, and 18 and over. Participants will showcase their skills in multiple disciplines such as Freestyle, Butterfly, Backstroke, and Breaststroke.
Moses Mwase, President of the Uganda Swimming Federation, emphasized the significance of the championships. “This event is crucial for the development and promotion of swimming in Uganda. It provides a platform for young talents to compete at a national level,” Mwase stated.
Eric Kisero highlighted the main objective of the event. “The primary goal of this championship is to select Team Uganda for upcoming national team engagements. It is an opportunity to identify and nurture the best swimming talents in the country,” Kisero remarked.
The USF National Swimming Championships continue to play a vital role in fostering competitive swimming in Uganda, providing athletes with the opportunity to excel and represent their country on a larger stage.
