Prominent football nations Germany, Spain, France, England, Portugal, and Italy have successfully progressed, along with Switzerland, Denmark, Slovenia, Austria, Netherlands, Romania, Belgium, Slovakia, Türkiye, and Georgia.
Notably, Slovenia and Georgia have reached the knockout stage of a major international tournament for the first time.
In Group A, Germany secured the top spot, with Switzerland finishing second. Group B saw Spain and Italy advance, while in Group C, England led with Denmark second and Slovenia third.
Austria topped Group D, followed by France and the Netherlands. Romania and Belgium advanced from Group E, with Slovakia as the third-placed team.
Group F’s qualifiers were Portugal, Türkiye, and Georgia, the latter making a historic advancement.
The best third-placed teams joining the knockout rounds are Slovenia, the Netherlands, Slovakia, and Georgia. Hungary and Croatia, despite their efforts, did not make it through.
The round of 16 fixtures are set to begin on Saturday, June 29, with Switzerland facing Italy in Berlin and Germany taking on Denmark in Dortmund.
Sunday, June 30, will feature England against Slovakia in Gelsenkirchen and Spain versus Georgia in Cologne.
Monday, July 1, sees France play Belgium in Düsseldorf, followed by Portugal against Slovenia in Frankfurt.
The final matches on Tuesday, July 2, will see Romania clash with the Netherlands in Munich and Austria against Türkiye in Leipzig.
Following the round of 16, the quarter-finals will be held on July 5-6. The semi-finals are scheduled for July 9-10, culminating in the final on July 14 at Berlin’s Olympiastadion.
