FIFA Consignment of 66,260 Balls Arrives in Uganda for Schools Program

A consignment of 66,260 footballs from FIFA has arrived in Uganda, marking a significant step in the FIFA Football For Schools Programme. The delivery was received by Ali Mwebe, FUFA Football Development Director, at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

This shipment is a part of the FIFA Football For Schools Programme, which was launched last week. The initiative aims to distribute the footballs to primary schools across Uganda, providing young students with the opportunity to engage in the sport.

The programme aligns with the FUFA Technical Master Plan, which seeks to ensure that every young boy and girl in Uganda has the chance to play football. Ali Mwebe emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating that it will foster the development of young talent and promote physical activity among children.

The Football For Schools Programme is designed to integrate football into the education system, encouraging participation in the sport from an early age.

According to FUFA, the distribution of these footballs will begin shortly, with the Federation coordinating the logistics to ensure that primary schools nationwide receive their share.

This initiative is expected to have a lasting impact on the development of football in Uganda, nurturing the next generation of players and fostering a love for the game among young students.
