StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions SC Villa have known their CECAFA Kagame Club Championship group stage opponents.
Villa were pooled in Group C at draw conducted in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday afternoon.
Interestingly, the same Group has Uganda Cranes midfielder Taddeo Lwanga’s APR FC who won the 2023/24 Rwanda Premier League.
Lwanga is also a former player at Villa a side he played for between 2015 and 2017 also having a spell as the club’s captain before he left for Vipers SC.
Tanzania’s Singida Black Stars and South Susan’s Al Mereik Bentui complete the four teams in Group C.
The competition will be held for the first time since 2021 when Uganda Premier League outfit Express FC clinched it.
The 12-team tournament will run from July 9-21 at Azam Complex in Chamazi and KMC Stadium in Kinomdoni.
Serbian tactician Dusan Stojanovic’s men will be looking for their fourth CECAFA Kagame Club Championship.
