Express have regretfully revealed that they will not participate in the upcoming CECAFA Club Championship – Kagame Cup, set to commence on July 9, 2024, in Tanzania.
Despite initial plans to defend their title as champions, having won the previous edition by defeating Nyasa Big Bullets 1-0 in the final, the club received communication from the organizers on July 1, 2024, stating that their invitation had been rescinded due to financial constraints.
With Express out of contention, SC Villa remains the sole Ugandan club in the tournament and is placed in Group D alongside APR (Rwanda), Singanda Black Stars (Tanzania), and El-Merriekkh (South Sudan).
