Bidco Uganda Limited Football Club have secured the signing of striker Isaac Wagoina from Express Football Club
The talented forward has put pen to paper on a two-year contract for the Eastern Giants, keeping him at the club until 2026.
Wagoina arrives at BUL with a formidable goal-scoring reputation after an impressive spell at Express last season.
The 24-year-old was a standout performer for the Red Eagles, and was the second-best top scorer in the league after Muhammad Shaban, scoring 14 goals and assisting in 3, in his 29 appearances for the club.
Wagoina expressed his delight at joining BUL, stating, “Thank you for welcoming me to BUL FC. It was my decision to join this club, I was not coerced. I looked at all the teams that were chasing my signature and BUL was the best amongst all. Arguably, it is the biggest team in Uganda.”
The striker went on to explain the reass behind his decision of joining BUL, highlighting the club’s ambitions and potential as key factors in his decision.
“I looked at its ambitions, ability and possibility of winning great things and all the boxes were just ticking. I then decided as a player that this is the right team I should play for. I believe it is the team that will improve me as a player and possibly also take me to the national team ranks.”
Prior to his impressive spell at Express, Wagoina had played for teams in the Busoga sub-region, where BUL also hails, like Iganga Young, Busoga United, and Busei United.
His exploits last season, which included being the top scorer in the 2023 FUFA Drum tournament with 7 goals, have now earned him a move BUL, who finished second on last season’s premier league log.
The signing comes after Wagoina took to his social media handles to bid farewell to Express earlier today.
“Dear Express Football Club, It’s with a heavy and teary heart that I write to you about my departure from the club. I must say it’s one of the hardest decisions to jot down in my life,” he said in his farewell message.
He also expressed his gratitude to his former teammates, coaching staff, club chairman and the fans.
Isaac Wagoina, who can operate both as a striker and winger, comes in to strengthen BUL’s attacking line that also consists of Ibra Muguluusi, Alex Kitatta, Martin Aprem and Reagan Kalyowa.
