Gaddafi Football Club, based in Jinja, had a disappointing season in the Uganda Premier League, finishing in 15th place with 25 points from 29 matches, resulting in their relegation to the lower division.
In their first season after promotion to Uganda Premier League season (2021/2022), Gaddafi finished 11th with 31 points. They however didn’t do well in the 2023/24 season, securing 7 wins, 4 draws, and 18 losses, hence their relataion to the Big League.
Gadaffi President, Edrine Ochieng now says focus has shifted to rebuilding the team as they aim to bounce back.
He expressed his optimism that his team would do well in the Big League next season, stating that the team will start holding trials for new talent later this week.
“As we return to the Big League, we are gearing up to hold our trials on Friday, July 12, with a focus on our club’s foundational principles and rebuilding a strong team to drive our journey back to the Premier League,” he said.
Gaddafi have so far had a quiet transfer with no official announcements regarding new signings or player departures as they prepare for their Big League campaign.
