MTN Uganda, the number one supporter of the Uganda Cranes, proudly revealed the top three Uganda Fayaa cheerleading teams at a special event held at their headquarters in Kampala.

From June 7 to June 28, fans cast their votes for their favourite cheerleading teams using the MTN Sports microsite and USSD platform. The selection process was rigorous, focusing on creativity, enthusiasm, and engagement, resulting in the selection of the top nine teams.

Each finalist team received up to UGX 1.5 million to enhance their performances during the Uganda Cranes’ matches against Botswana on June 7 and Algeria on June 10, 2024.

Somdev Sen, Chief Marketing Officer of MTN Uganda, highlighted the campaign’s significance, while Rogers Byamukama, a FUFA Executive Committee Member, underscored the pivotal role of fans in football.

The top three cheerleading teams, hailed for their outstanding performances, are Uncle Money, Team Dressers, and Kamodo. Each winning team expressed delight and enthusiasm upon receiving their accolades.

The three finalists will be awarded UGX 5 million each, along with a renewable one-year cheerleading contract for both home and away games, and a performance allowance based on briefs commissioned by MTN.

Meanwhile, other runners-up received UGX 500,000.
