Ahead of the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League season, Lugazi Football Club’s facilities were inspected on July 23, 2024, by Okello Lee, chairman of the FUFA club licensing committee, and Uganda Premier League manager Paul Kabaikaramu.
The inspection included visits to Lugazi Stadium, Ndoddo training grounds, club offices, and other facilities in Najjembe.
Club chairman Abdul Kawuulu Mwanje and chief executive officer Sulait Abdul Swamadu guided the officials on a tour of the facilities.
The officials commended the club for its significant progress and efforts to meet the standards required for the Uganda Premier League.
Lugazi, participating in the top-flight league for the first time this season, has made substantial improvements to ensure compliance with league regulations and standards.
Lugazi FC, formerly known as Kampala University FC, was established in 2010 in the Luweero District Football Association.
After moving up to the Buganda Regional League by winning the Zonal Mini League in 2012/2013, the club reorganized and rebranded as Lugazi in 2020.
Within a year, they won the Buganda Regional League and advanced to the FUFA Big League.
The club aims for Uganda Premier League entry and participation in continental competitions, driven by values of diversity, integrity, accountability, fun, innovation, and teamwork.
Their goal is to become a self-sustainable club focused on talent development and success in African football.
