The participating provinces include; Buganda, Busoga, Lango, Teso, Tooro, Kigezi, Sebei, Karamoja, Rwenzori, Bugisu, Bunyoro, Kampala, Acholi, West Nile, and Bukedi.

According to the Chairperson of the FUFA Drum Organizing Committee, Rogers Byamukama, the 2024 edition will be bigger and better.

“As FUFA, we are proud of the successful strides we have made in the FUFA Drum. The tournament is unique and gives every Ugandan a sense of belonging. We believe the 2024 edition will be even bigger and better,” he said.

MTN Uganda is one of the sponsors of the tournament and they were represented by their Manager in charge of Sponsorships and Events, John Paul Okwi.

“There are not so many events or properties that galvanize the entire country like we have seen with the FUFA Drum. As MTN, we have a lot in stock to ensure the theme of celebrating ancestry is upheld,” he said.

The tournament will begin with a preliminary stage, where eight teams will compete, and the winners will advance to the group stage, joining teams from Pots 3, 4, and 5, which were drawn into four groups of three teams each.

The following are the teams that are going to play preliminary stage;
