South Africa: “We Want More Than Two Titles” – Onyango

Former Uganda Cranes goalkeeper and captain Denis Onyango has stated Mamelodi Sundowns’ targets for the 2024/25 campaign.

The veteran custodian noted Masandawana will be aiming to win more than two titles, a number they managed the previous season.

“We need to have targets and that’s what we are building towards,” Onyango was quoted by Goal.

“We need to have the right mentality and win as much as possible, more than what we managed last season.”

“Last campaign we won only two trophies, so the target is to win more than two this season because our expectations are always high,” he noted.

The Brazilians clinched the Premier Soccer League for the seventh consecutive season, which was their record 17th plus the inaugural Africa Football League.

Domestic tournaments like the MTN8, Nedbank Cup, and Telkom Knockout have continuously eluded them despite their dominance in the league.

The 39-year-old has had his one year extension option in his contract triggered pending a club confirmation.

Downs began life without Rhulani Mokwena with a preseason tour to Austria and Manqoba Mnqithi’s reign will officially commence next week in the MTN8 against Polokwane City.

They will compete in seven competitions next season notably in the expanded FIFA Club World Cup, CAF Champions League, and defend the Africa Football League title.
