The 2023/24 Castle Lite National Basketball League (NBL) is entering into the semifinals of the playoffs for both the men and women categories.
All the other quarterfinals of the playoffs have been decided except one tie between KCCA Panthers and UCU Canons for the men.
Following defeat in game one of the best of three series where they lost 80-60, the Panthers were on the victorious side in game two beating the Canons 79-62.
The Panthers and Canons are levelled 1-1, and the tiebreaker will be played on Friday to determine which team will play against the record champions City Oilers who swept Kampala Rockets, in the semifinals.
Namuwongo Blazers who fought hard to eliminate Our Saviour will face KIU Titans in another epic encounter. Titans saw off JT Jaguars.
Meanwhile, champions JKL Lady Dolphins thumped UPDF Lady Tomahawks to set up a semifinal showdown against JT Lady Jaguars who came out top against KCCA Leopards.
After sweeping Magic Stormers, UCU Lady Canons will meet KIU Rangers in the semifinals who ejected Miracle Ravens.
The quarterfinals were played as best of three series, the semifinals will be a best of five series whilst the finals are a best of seven series.
