Spanning five days from August 18th to 23rd, the convention will feature a range of activities, including seminars for ring officials, agents, and promoters, culminating in a series of boxing bouts.

A two-day seminar for promoters and agents is scheduled from August 20th to 22nd, with the weigh-in for the fights to be held on August 22nd, followed by the boxing matches on August 23rd.

During the launch, Uganda Professional Boxing Commission President Salim Uhuru Nsubuga highlighted the significance of the convention for Uganda, emphasizing its potential to elevate the country’s status in the global boxing community.

ABU General Secretary Maureen Mulangira also addressed the media, stressing the event’s importance for African boxers and the opportunities it presents.

The World Boxing Council (WBC) and ABU will provide expert facilitators to lead the seminars, ensuring participants receive top-tier training in promotion and agent management.

The convention will feature a marquee fight between Uganda’s Super Middleweight contender, John Sserunjogi, and Egypt’s Ahmed Borishe.

The event will also include a regional Super Welterweight title bout for East and Central Africa, with Uganda’s National Champion, Isaac Zebra Ssenyange Jr., set to face a yet to be named opponent.

Additionally, Joshua “Spyder” Nyanzi will square off against Power Jjunju in a welterweight clash.

Attendees will be required to pay $50 and $75 to participate in the ring officials’ training and seminar.
