Tanzania: Aucho Continues To Stamp Authority On Yanga Faithful’s Hearts

Young Africans SC’s enthusiasts fell in love with Uganda Cranes captain Khalid Aucho when he joined the club in 2021 from Egyptian side Misr El Mekkasa.

They nicknamed him “Daktari Wa Mupiira” and have continuously shown their affection for the midfielder.

He was presented with the Player of the Fans Award during the Yanga Day on Sunday.

“This Award wouldn’t have been possible without your support, trust, and love,” Aucho reacted in reception to the accolade.

“Young Africans fans thank you for being my rock. Much love and respect, and we have much to do this season. May Allah bless you all,” he said.

In return, the 30-year-old has not disappointed the Wananchi putting up performances worth this recognition.

Aucho missed the Uganda Cranes World Cup qualifiers against Botswana and Algeria in June through injury but he has since recovered.

He was involved as Miguel Gamondi’s side defeated Zambian outfit Red Arrow 2-1 at a fully packed Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in a friendly.

Yanga have just returned from South Africa, where they played friendlies against top clubs, most notably German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.

Aucho has won the Tanzanian Premier League for all the three seasons he has spent with Young Africans SC.
