Uganda was represented by FUFA Communications Director Ahmed Marsha Hussein and Celebrated Sports Journalist Usher Komugisha.

CAF General Secretary Veron Mosengo-Omba, in his opening remarks, stressed the necessity for African football to remain aligned with global communication practices.

He praised the communication efforts during the recent TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, noting that having the best people in the communication department was key to its success.

Luxolo September of CAF highlighted the significant progress made in redefining the narrative of African football through strategic communications.

He pointed out initiatives like the CAF Future Media Officers programme and the all-women communication team at the Women’s AFCON in Morocco as examples of CAF’s forward-thinking approach.

The workshop aimed to discuss the African Football Communications Strategy, formulate an action plan with Member Associations, align future CAF event hosts, and build capacity.

Sessions covered building a winning communications strategy, modern media relations, effective use of digital platforms, and implementing CAF Media Operational guidelines.

Featuring speakers experienced in communication strategies for major international sporting events like the FIFA World Cup and the NBA, the workshop provided valuable insights and knowledge sharing.
