Tooro Queens Set to Join 12-Team FUFA Women Super League Next Season

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has officially approved the expansion of the FUFA Women Super League (FWSL) to 12 teams starting with the 2024/2025 season.

This decision marks a significant step in promoting and developing women’s football in Uganda.

As part of the expansion, FC Tooro Queens have been sportingly considered by FUFA to join the FWSL next season, pending their compliance with club licensing regulations.

FC Tooro Queens will join the league alongside She Corporate, Olila, and Byafayo Queens, all of whom have been promoted to the Super League.

Previously, the Super League comprised 10 teams. The increase in the number of participating teams aims to provide more competitive opportunities and enhance the level of women’s football in the country.

However, the league will see the departure of UCU Lady Cardinals and Asubo Ladies, both of whom were relegated to the Elite League at the end of the last season.
