Nerrick Tumusiime Dominates Mawanda in Champions League Week 7

In a thrilling match that electrified the crowd at Club Obligato, Nerrick Tumusiime of Kololo Boxing Club emerged victorious over Mawanda Depark of East Coast Boxing Club in the light middleweight division of the Uganda Boxing Champions League Season Three.

Tumusiime, backed by a boisterous crowd that included a vibrant entourage of local artists and supporters, displayed exceptional skill and dominance from the opening bell.

In stark contrast, Mawanda struggled to find his rhythm, appearing overwhelmed by the intensity of the match.

The bout took an unexpected turn in the second round when a ringside doctor deemed Mawanda unfit to continue due to a cut sustained during the early exchanges.

The stoppage awarded the victory to Tumusiime, extending his impressive run in the league.

The atmosphere at Club Obligato was electric, with fans from both Kololo Boxing Club and East Coast Boxing Club creating a deafening cacophony of cheers and chants.

The event was graced by the presence of notable figures including Uganda Boxing Federation President Moses Muhangi and Hon. Dan Nyeko, who were among the captivated audience.

Speaking to the media after the match, Muhangi lauded the growing talent pool in Ugandan boxing. “We are witnessing the birth of new stars,” he said. “Our focus now is to nurture these talents, ensuring they can sustain successful careers in the sport. We aim to transition them into professional boxing where they can earn a living from their skills.”
