The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed that all 12 clubs participating in the 2024/25 FUFA Women Super League (FWSL) season have successfully met the required licensing guidelines.
The FUFA Women’s Super League, which has now been rebranded to Finance Trust Women’s Super League after Finance Trust Bank invested UGX 2 billion into women’s football, will kick off in late September.
The licensing process followed a rigorous evaluation by FUFA to ensure that clubs meet specific criteria related to infrastructure, management, and player welfare.
This year, all 12 clubs passed the test, including the four new entrants promoted from the FUFA Women Elite League; She Corporate FC, Olila High School WFC, Byafaayo Queens FC and FC Tooro Queens.
FUFA also approved the stadiums that will host the league’s matches, and all the 12 teams will be hosting at their grounds.
Reigning champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC will play their home games at Kawempe Muslim Play Ground, while other established clubs like Lady Doves FC and Wakiso Hills WFC will host their matches at Katusabe Dive Stadium in Masindi and St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende, respectively.
Among the new entrants, She Corporate will use the MUBS Playground in Nakawa, and Olila High School WFC will host their games at Olila High School Playground in Soroti.
Byafaayo Queens FC, who secured their spot in the league after winning the third-place playoff in the Elite League, will play at Amus Stadium in Bukedea.
FC Tooro Queens, who were also promoted after FUFA expanded the league to 12 teams, will host their matches at Buhinga Stadium in Fort Portal.
