DR Congo’s TP Mazembe have made a triumphant return to the CAF Women’s Champions League, securing their spot in the final phase of the competition.
This marks their second appearance in the tournament after their debut in 2022.
The journey to the final phase wasn’t without its challenges. In a tense match against Lekié Football Filles, the Mazembe players faced immense pressure to maintain their lead atop the tournament standings.
Despite facing early setbacks, TP Mazembe’s resilience shone through. Esther Dikisha, a key figure in the team, stepped up in a crucial moment, netting a goal that sealed their victory and secured their place in the final phase.
The result means the team will now represent UNIFFAC in the final phase of the CAF Women’s Champions League, aiming to make a strong impact on the continental stage.
In other news from the tournament, Atlético de Malabo secured their first win by defeating CSM Diables Noirs 3-2.
