Eastern giants BUL have announced the signing of midfielder Ramz Kawooya on a two-year contract from Express.
This was the second time during the ongoing transfer window that the Oil Manufacturers were fishing big from the Red Eagles.
BUL’s first signing of the summer came when they acquired the service of Isaac Waigona from the seven-time UPL champions.
These are both significant additions to the team that has started to consistently vie for the league and also shows up big during cup competitions.
Only formers KCCA forward Muhammad Shaban and Kitara striker Denis Omedi who scored 17 and 15 goals, respectively outscored Waigona who managed 14 goals last season.
Meanwhile, Kawooya is categorised amongst the best midfielders in the UPL and BUL should brace themselves given his potential and the fact that he was on the radars of a couple of other big clubs including Vipers.
During the 2023/24 campaign, BUL finished second on the 15-team UPL log with 56 points, only a single point adrift of the eventual champions Villa and will be aiming for the crown next season.
Abbey Kikomeko’s charges will begin their 2024/25 season on the road against newly promoted side Police at Kavumba on Monday, September 16.
Before the UPL commences, BUL will be hoping to defend their FUFA Super 8 Cup when they battle against Vipers in the final on Sunday, September 1.
