Uganda Premier League champions Villa have settled for midfielder Ronald Ssekiganda as their new captain.
This follows the departure of their former skipper Kenneth Ssemakula who left the club after the expiry of his contract in June.
Ssemakula who now plies his trade with Club Africain in Tunisia left as a historic captain after captaining the club to their first UPL title since 2004.
Since his departure, the captain’s armband has been worn by both Ssekiganda and David Owori on different occasions.
Owori wore it during the CECAFA Kagame Club Championship in Tanzania.
It returned to the Uganda Cranes midfielder during the FUFA Super 8 tournament.
Meanwhile, Ssekiganda skippered the Jogoos in the first leg of the first round of the CAF Champions League preliminaries against Commercial Bank of Ethiopia at Namboole.
Ssekiganda started on the bench in the return leg in Ethiopia and Owori captained the UPL record champions.
The two have been maintained for the role and as Ssekiganda will captain the team, Owori will serve as his deputy.
Goalkeepers Braddy Jeans Wokorach and Meddie Kibirige will be the third and fourth captains respectively.
