Corporate Games Announces “Run for Expectant Mothers” Charity Run

The Corporate Games Uganda Ltd has announced the upcoming Corporate Run, a charity event scheduled for Sunday, October 13, 2024.

The run will be held under the theme “Run for Expectant Mothers” to raise awareness about maternal complications and support the health of pregnant women across Uganda.

The event, starting and finishing at Bishop Cipriano Kihangire in Luzira, will feature three categories: a 2KM Networking Run, a 5KM run, and a 10KM run. The kit fee for participants is UGX 20,000.

All proceeds from the Corporate Run will be directed towards providing mama kits to expectant mothers in health centers across Uganda’s four regions: Northern, Western, Eastern, and Central.

The goal is to combat maternal deaths by scaling up awareness and mobilizing resources.

The Corporate Games Uganda Ltd is a registered sports management company that organizes corporate games, runs, team buildings, and kids’ leagues.

According to current statistics, 19 women in Uganda die every day due to pregnancy complications. The company aims to address this issue through the Corporate Run and other initiatives.

The event organizers are seeking private funding from individuals, development partners, corporate organizations, and the private sector. Donations can be made through kit purchases, cash donations, in-kind contributions, and other means.

Several sponsors and partners have already committed to supporting the Corporate Run, including Next Media Group, TMR International Hospital, Node Group, and Uganda Airlines.

In addition to the run, the event will also include voluntary HIV testing and counseling services, safe male circumcision, HIV awareness and prevention information, blood donation, an award ceremony, and a Corporate Games outing with activities like soccer, volleyball, chess, and sack racing.

The Corporate Games Uganda Ltd is encouraging individuals and corporate teams to participate in the Corporate Run and contribute to the important cause of maternal health.
