Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana will return to Uganda with Cameroon to visit Kenya in October.
According to renowned Kenyan sport journalist Eric Njiiru, Nyayo and Karasani continue to be renovated and will not be ready for use at least until next year.
“Kenya will host Cameroon in Kampala, Uganda on Tuesday, October 15 as Nyayo Stadium and Karasani won’t be ready until next year,” Njiiru posted on his X handle on Wednesday.
“Ugandans please come out in large numbers to support the Harambee Stars and see Onana again,” the tweet added.
The Manchester United custodian was at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole with the Indomitable Lions on Tuesday.
His presence drew thousands of Manchester United supporters in Uganda as the five-time AFCON champions shared spoils with Zimbabwe in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Zimbabwe and Kenya are hosting their AFCON qualifiers from Uganda for now with the challenges of lack of CAF standard stadium in their countries.
Beyond October, Onana is also likely to return to the Pearl of Africa for the 2027 AFCON set to be co-hosted by East African countries Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.
The excitement of fans to cast a glance at as such stars will be extreme when East Africa hosts the greatest football showpiece on the continent in three years time bringing a host of them on home soil.
