The Kampala Queens are raring to go as they kick off their 2023/24 Finance Trust Women’s Super League campaign on a high when they host Wakiso Hill on Friday September 26.
After a heartbreaking loss in the finals last season, the Queens are determined to reclaim their title and dominate the league.
Captain Shamirah Nalugya, reflecting on the previous season, acknowledged the challenges posed by injuries that hampered their performance.
However, she expressed optimism for the upcoming season, stating, “This year’s league is going to be even more competitive with the addition of two new teams. But we’re not intimidated. We’ve learned from our mistakes and are ready to face any challenge.”
The Queens enter the new season injury-free, a major boost to their hopes. Second assistant coach Ssekizivu Juma emphasized the team’s preparedness, saying, “We’ve been training hard and are confident in our ability to win. The challenges we faced last season have made us stronger.”
As the Queens gear up for their opening match, they are determined to make a statement and set the tone for a successful season.
