With less than 20 days remaining until the election of new executive members for the Uganda Netball Federation, stakeholders from various regions of the country have taken legal action to stop the electoral process.

They have petitioned the court to halt all election-related activities, citing dissatisfaction with the current normalization process.

The Uganda Netball Federation was suspended from its duties in October of last year by the National Council of Sports. In response, a normalization committee was appointed to resolve issues within the federation.

Headed by Mr. Moses Mwase, the committee has been overseeing operations for nearly a year and has scheduled elections for October 26 to appoint new leadership.

However, several stakeholders have expressed discontent with the committee’s performance. Multiple petitions have been submitted to both the committee and the government, raising concerns over its handling of federation matters.

Dissatisfied with the lack of resolution, these members have now resorted to legal action to seek a court injunction to delay the elections.

The outcome of this court petition will play a crucial role in determining whether the elections will proceed as planned or face further delays.
