Arsenal is anxiously awaiting news on the fitness of star winger Bukayo Saka after he limped off during England’s 2-1 defeat to Greece on Thursday night.
The 23-year-old is set to undergo a scan to determine the extent of the injury.
Saka was forced off in the 51st minute of the match, clutching the back of his right leg. England interim manager Lee Carsley confirmed that the player would be assessed.
Arsenal’s upcoming fixtures include a crucial Premier League clash against Liverpool on October 27, and Saka’s availability for this match is a major concern.
The winger has been instrumental to Arsenal’s strong start to the season, contributing three goals and seven assists in the Premier League.
The injury comes at a difficult time for Arsenal, who have already lost midfielder Martin Odegaard to an ankle injury during the international break.
Defenders Ben White, Jurrien Timber, and Oleksandr Zinchenko were also absent from their recent match against Southampton.
With Odegaard out and Saka potentially sidelined, Arsenal’s attacking options are limited.
However, the Gunners remain in a strong position in the Premier League, currently sitting in third place, just one point behind leaders Liverpool.
