The inaugural Corporate Run for Expectant Mothers, held on Sunday, October 13th, proved to be a resounding success, bringing together hundreds of individuals from various companies for a noble cause.
The event, themed “Run for Expectant Mothers,” aimed to raise awareness and funds for maternal health and safety in Uganda.
Over 1,000 runners and walkers participated in the event, demonstrating their commitment to supporting expectant mothers in the Northern and Eastern regions of the country.
The run was a testament to the growing awareness of maternal mortality issues and the desire of the community to make a positive impact.
A special thank you was extended to the event’s partners, whose contributions were instrumental in its success.
These partners included Next Media Group, TMR International Hospital, Node Group, betPawa Uganda, NovoGames Uganda, State House Uganda, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Uganda Baati, the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board, and numerous others.
Their support helped organize the event, raise awareness, and provide essential medical services to participants.
The event also featured a competitive 5km race, with winners recognized for their outstanding performances. The winners’ dedication and achievements served as an inspiration to all participants and highlighted the spirit of the event.
The organizers expressed their gratitude to all the participants and partners for their generous contributions, which will be used to provide safer and more accessible mama kits to expectant mothers in need.
The kits will include essential items to support mothers during pregnancy and childbirth.
Looking ahead, the organizers announced their ambitious goal of attracting at least 5,000 runners and walkers for the Corporate Run 2025.
They are also seeking private funding from individuals, development partners, corporate organizations, and the private sector to support their efforts.
